Terms of Service
The short version: we prepare a document for you, honestly and carefully. Here's the full picture.
1. What BillStand is
BillStand is a document-preparation tool. Based on your answers, it prepares a personalized letter about a medical bill that you can review, sign, and send yourself. You remain the author and sender of your letter.
2. What BillStand is not
BillStand is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, legal representation, financial advice, or medical advice. No attorney–client relationship is created by using it. References to laws in your letter are informational descriptions of generally applicable federal protections, not advice about your specific rights. For legal questions about your situation, consult a licensed attorney; many states offer free legal aid for medical debt issues.
3. No promised outcomes
Whether and how a provider, hospital, or collector responds to your letter depends on your circumstances and their policies. We make no promise or prediction of any particular outcome, including any reduction of any bill.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information, to review your letter before sending it, and to use it only for lawful, good-faith purposes concerning your own bill (or one you are authorized to handle).
5. Payment & refunds
The price shown at checkout is a one-time payment, processed by Stripe. Because your letter is generated and delivered immediately, all sales are final once the letter is delivered — but if something went wrong with your purchase, write to support@billstand.com and we'll make it right.
6. Privacy
Your answers are used only to prepare your letter and are deleted automatically. See our Privacy page — it's short and it means it.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BillStand's total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it.
